Curator position at SRI

The AURA team (see http://www.ai.sri.com/project/aura) is looking for a biologist to oversee curation of a knowledge base from a college level biology textbook. This is a part time position with a commitment level of approximately 40%. The biologist will have the following responsibilities:
- Design and develop a knowledge curation manual
- Oversee the contribution of two junior biologists as they enter knowledge
- Assess the overall quality of the knowledge base
- Design a series of test questions to evaluate the knowledge base
- Score the answer outputs produced by the system
- Work closely with the AURA development team and contribute to system improvements
Qualifications
Masters or Ph.D. degree in Biology or related disciplines
Experience
The biologist should have a thorough knowledge of AP Biology curriculum, and knowledge of the AP test, and a broader understanding of the kinds of questions students ask. It will also be desirable if the biologist has experience working with ontologies, and especially some knowledge about the open bio-medical ontologies. Experience in teaching AP Biology will be a big plus.
