User Groups

NCBO currently has two user groups, the purpose of which is to improve bi-directional communication between the Center and those who use its software in order to facilitate feature updates, bug repairs, and usability.

BioPortal User Group

BioPortal User Group Meetings have been suspended until September. Please check back for an updated schedule.

This group provides a forum for new change requests for BioPortal functions and features, and for discussion of the value and capabilities of these requests. It allows the NCBO BioPortal team to formally communicate software related information to the user communities.

Members of the BioPortal User Group are part of communities that utilize the software, such as biologists, medical personnel, clinicians, and computer scientists. Each community is represented by one individual that participates in committee meetings by presenting and voting on feature changes, as the ambassador from their community. All members have the option to participate in usability studies and user acceptance testing.

For a list of current communities in the BioPortal User Group, and for more information, please read the Charter.

Phenote+ User Group

The Phenote+ User Group aims to enhance knowledge transfer between software developers and users, thus driving the development of the software. Main goals include prioritizing features, testing new beta releases, reporting bugs, and contributing to documentation. Members participate in much the same way as described for the BioPortal User Group, with regular WebEx meetings to discuss agenda items.

For a list of current members of the Phenote+ User Group, and for more information, please see the Phenote Wiki.
If you are currently developing Phenote code or would like to help in this effort, please see Phenote Developers Group.
