CTeXplorer was an interactive, adaptive visualization tool that allowed users to upload descriptive data about a set of related clinical trials and then to interactively explore complex differences between their designs. Trial data could be filtered using sliders and check boxes to present views of clinical trial eligibility criteria, interventions, and outcomes based on the selected parameters. Users could identify related clinical trials using CTSearch.
CTeXplorer was an early prototype and several features were not fully functional. With the release of the NCBO’s Annotator service, researchers planned to develop CTeXplorer further by annotating trial information and incorporating the use of semantic hierarchies. This tool was made by collaborators at UC San Francisco and the University of Victoria.
